For every software development company, PHP is an amazing development tool. Most companies provide web solutions as well as software development services. PHP is great for both these purposes. PHP is the recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor " and was originally called "Personal Home Page tools". It is a scripting language with a syntax style similar to one of C andPerl, which is mainly used to create dynamic Web pages or Web applications. PHP isa free softwaredisseminated under the PHP license.
PHP is characterized by the broad database support and Internet-protocol integration, and the availability of numerous function libraries. PHP is used in about 75% of all websites on a server-side basis as a programming language, and is the most widely used language for creating Web sites. It is also great for providing software development services.
PHP was created in 1995 by Rasmus Lerdorf. The term itself stood for Personal Home Page Tools, and was originally used as a substitute for a collection of Perl scripts, which Lerdorf accessed to resume his online writing after logging on. Soon, Lerdorf created a larger version in the programming language C, and to date, PHP is developed in it. Finally it was released as PHP / FI (FI stood for Form Interpreter) and was very similar to Perl, albeit reduced.

PHP3:
PHP3 was developed by Andi Gutmans and Zeev Suraski and has been rewritten as the now released PHP / FI 2; as, in their view, e-commerce has been inadequate. Lerdorf is now cooperating with Suraski and Gutmans in the development of PHP / FI set. This version broughtsignificant progressto the proliferation of Web-scripting language PHP.
PHP4:
The company, founded by Suraski and Gutmans was called Zend Technologies Ltd. Later, it designed the Zend Engine 1, and, in the core of PHP 4 is the default implementation. With PHP 4, the execution speed of complex applications and security when using global variables have been improved. The support for many more Web servers, the session management, output buffering, and a number of new language constructs have been introduced.Since the World Wide Web grew stronglyin the late 1990s, there was great need for scripting languages, and dynamic web pages which could be implemented. PHP became popular for Web development because it's easier to learn it through specialization. Today, any decent software development company is sure to specialize in PHP.

PHP5:
In the summer of 2004, PHP came up with version 5.0; a further stage of development was published. The Zend Engine IIis a major difference from the predecessor, which primarily used an improved object model before, so object-oriented applications are allowed to run efficiently and language constructs such as overloading are allowed. There are also exceptions, reflection, integration of database SQLite and extensions forXML - and DOM handling.
PHP is used by almost each and every software development company these days. You can get the most effective and user friendly web and software solutions if you opt for a good software development company that specializes in PHP.
